Feature: Where the Boys Are: Men’s Skin Options in SL

There comes a time in everyone’s SLife when a newbie male asks you where he can find a good skin. Nine times out of ten the store names that rolls off your tongue will be FNKY! or Naughty Designs since they are two very well-known purveyors of male and female products – skins, hairs, clothes … the works. For quite some time I’ve heard guys whine that there are no skin options in SL. Speaking in absolutes is rarely ever accurate. If they’re not griping that there are only three skin options (according to their mental inventory) I’ve also heard well-placed concerns from avatars who don’t want to look like creatine junkies with rippling muscles. ‘Where are the nicely toned options?’, they ask.

Well, guys, based on weeks of research and joint effort the Y Me boys have compiled a list of over 30 diverse skins options (based on our own individual preferences we don’t endorse all of these products … we are simply informing you of the available choices). Links have been provided to fashion blogs like Men’s Second Style, Paratge and/or SLMen as covered on these staple fashion blogs with male content, as well as directly to designer blogs/sites if available. Not all products here will have online content. In this case you’ll just have to teleport down and eyeball the product for yourself.

You’re sure to find something to suit your needs and preferences here. And if you don’t there is currently no pleasing you. Please make your own skin.

For all product considerations I highly suggest you visit the store, try on the demos and examine the product with great detail. This includes trying on all your preferred hairs and face accessories (such as glasses/goggles, piercings, tattoos, band-aids, etc.).
